73 Vogue Questions Tag

Hey guys! I’m back with something a little bit different!

I was tagged to do this by the wonderful Wildflower Hippy. Go check our her blog!

I thought this would be a good way to share a bit about me and hopefully you will find it mildly entertaining!

The rules are simple, I answer some questions and then tag some bloggers to take part!

#1. What is your usual Starbucks order?

No matter where I go I always get a latte with an extra shot of coffee. I luckily don’t have coffee very often, I don’t think my heart could take it! 🤣

#2. What does your work station look like right now?

For blogging, that can be anywhere on my house, normally my couch because it’s comfy.

For when I work from home for my actual job, I have a very messy desk with my laptop, keyboard, mouse and headset.

#3. All-time favourite food?

I don’t really have a favourite, if I had to really pick, I’d probably say lasagna but anything with carbs is awesome!

#5. What do you think of open relationships?

As long as all parties are consenting then it’s absolutely fine.

Argh, another hard one! Final Fantasy VIII or X, Kingdom Hearts, Blue Dragon, tbh most JRPGs are really good!

My Summer Skincare Routine

My Summer Skincare Routine

Hi guys! I’ve not been really feeling the writing bug recently and I’ve just not had as much time as I would have liked to sit down and get content out.

Luckily you are all an understanding bunch! I decided to take some time off to coincide with my holiday. I feel refreshed and ready to go! 😊

Since it’s summer – I live in Scotland, it’s never really summer 🤣 – I’ve been giving my skin a bit of a break from foundation and powders recently.

A couple of days in the sun does wonders for my skin and I don’t want to hinder that by wearing lots of make-up.

In case you are new here, my skin is a bit of a mixed bag. My forehead, around my nose and near my mouth are drier than the Sahara but the rest of my face is an oil slick.

I suffer from blackheads and my skin is very acne prone. You can literally see me getting stressed because I breakout so fast.

My skincare routine isn’t revolutionary but I thought I would share what I do to minimise breakouts and keep my skin feeling it’s best all day long.

If I’m having a shower, I will always use a facewash. At the moment, I’ve been loving foaming washes and very occasionally I will use a scrub on my nose.

For the last 3 or 4 months – yes the bottle does last that long – I’ve been using Asda Tea Tree Foaming Facial Wash. I’ve heard this is a dupe for the Simple Foaming Facewash but this doesn’t leave me with red, blotchy skin like the Simple one does.

It is only £2.00 and lasts for ages! As you can see from the picture, I need to pick up another one very soon!

Every day I cleanse my face with the Lush 9-5 Cleanser. I’ve spoken about my love for this way last year and I still love it just as much!

It’s great for removing makeup and just general everyday dirt on your skin and leaves it looking and feeling clean.

Next I follow up with the Lush Tea Tree Toner Water. Just a few spritzes is enough to do my whole face. It has a nice cooling effect and cleans any remaining cleanser residue. It doesn’t feel drying either which makes it perfect for even the driest skin!

Lastly, I’ll follow up with a moisturiser. At the moment I have been using the Eyewake Intense Effect Face Cream. I love this cream so much. It leaves my skin hydrated all day, it doesn’t feel greasy or oily and makes my skin feel so soft!

If I’m dealing with stubborn mascara or if I really don’t have time to do my full routine, I will use a wipe (currently using Soap and Glory wipes but I’m trying to limit my use of wipes in general) and put my moisturiser on after that but thankfully for my skin, those occasions are incredibly rare!

I will occasionally use face masks or serums if my skin is needing an extra boost but I tend to leave that kinds stuff to winter as my skin really suffers from the cold!

Compared to a few years ago when I didn’t really do anything, occasionally a makeup wipe would be hastily wiped across my face, my skin is much more even in skin tone and my scarring has reduced to as much as I think it will.

I know a lot of people are lazy about skincare – I used to be too! I would always say I don’t have time or a wipe does just as much but I realise now how important it actually is!

This literally takes me a few minutes a day to do and I don’t even think about it anymore, it’s just part of my routine.

The results for me are really worth it and I would highly recommend you pick out a few things that work for your skin type and make them part of your routine too!

I hope you found this useful and I’d love to know what you do for your routine? What products can you not live without? Let me know in the comments below ⤵️.

Thanks so much for reading! Speak soon!

Lush Favourites! 💜

Lush Favourites! 💜

Lush Favourites! 💜

So, I used to hate Lush…there, I said it… I hated them!

I didn’t get the hype, they were overpriced and so pretentious.

Oh, how wrong I was!

I started using Lush last year. I had just gotten over an infection which left a lot of scarring/bruising on my leg. My friend was working there and she gave me some samples of moisturiser to try – Dream Cream, Charity Pot and Sympathy for the Skin.

I used them all! The next few times I went to Edinburgh I spent a small fortune on different products and feel like I have been using them enough to have some favourite staple products I never want to live without!

IMG_20180501_072818
Sympathy for the Skin – Hand and Body Lotion – £6.50/100g

1) “Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m a cream of wealth and taste. A rich cream of cocoa butter and bananas to soften the skin.”

I have been told the banana promotes healing. I found this one gave me the best results with my leg. It prevents it from drying out and it doesn’t make it sting like some other creams. It has a lovely consistency that gets absorbed easily without leaving the skin really greasy. I have even started using it on my face before I put my makeup on to prevent my dry skin from ruining my makeup look!

IMG_20180501_072830
Roots – Hair Treatment – £11.50/225g

2) “The route to mighty fine hair. Fine hair needs careful looking after. This treatment is packed full of ingredients to revitalise from root to tip.”

I have very fine hair and not very much of it. Recently, I’ve developed a dry patch on my scalp too and it gets greasy so quickly! I wish I was one of those lucky girls who didn’t have to wash their hair everyday! I use this stuff once a week and I’ve found a massive difference. My hair feels softer and stronger and my scalp has noticibly improved. It also smells beautiful (minty!) and I can smell it on my hair the whole day!

img_20180501_072847.jpg
Oatifix – Fresh Face Mask – £7.50/75g

3) “Cleanse, soften and moisturise dry, sensitive skin.”

I adore this mask! You keep it in the fridge so it’s nice and cold when you put it on your face. My skin is usually a bit red and blotchy but this calms it down for a little while after I use it. It exfoliates as your cleaning it off too and leaves the skin looking healthy and glowing.

IMG_20180501_072838
Dark Angels – Face and Body Cleanser – £7.50/100g

4) “Designed for those who want a more exfoliating, absorbent cleanse.”

I have a sort of love/hate relationship with this one. It makes my skin feel so clean and soft but I can’t use it if I’m in a rush. It takes ages to wash off! It’s charcoal which you add some water to to make a paste that you smear on your face. It really does feel like it’s cleansing your skin but if you don’t have a mirror you’re not getting it off your face!

IMG_20180501_072731

What? No bath bombs, I hear you cry! I love the idea of the bath bombs, I really do but the one that I tried left my bath in such a mess and I had glitter everywhere for ages that it’s put me off a little. It did have some pretty colours though…

IMG_20171231_172821
Yup, it is a 🦄 bath plug!

I’ve included the website here but I would suggest going into the store. The staff are always so friendly -sometimes a little too friendly – and you can try the products before you spend your money on them.

As always, if you’re enjoying my posts, please comment/share/follow etc. I would really appreciate the feedback.
